  • The BBMRI-ERIC CRC-Cohort is a large, retrospective, multi-center cohort study that aims to facilitate research on novel biomarkers for the early detection, prognosis, and treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC). The cohort is composed of 10,792 individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of CRC and comprehensive data and biological material available for research purposes. The cohort has broad European coverage with 26 contributing biobanks from 12 countries. A medium-depth phenotypical/clinical data model has been defined and patient-level data have been collected centrally at BBMRI-ERIC, with additional rich data and biological material hosted in the contributing biobanks. The BBMRI-ERIC biobanks have been used to ensure the highest quality biospecimens and data. The cohort data includes digital scans of histopathological slides to support research in artificial intelligence in digital pathology.
